THE TORONTO EXPERIENCE!

"...Toronto is one of the most important cities in Canada and the world. People think that Toronto is the capital of Canada, but it isn't. Ottawa is the capital. Toronto is only a big city with a big population, a big economic district and, politically, it is the strategic centre of the country. I came here as student and I would like to tell you about my life in Toronto.
This city never sleeps. It's sounds unbelievable, but there is always something to do - and I am not just talking about the CN Tower or Chinatown and Little Italy. There always concerts, festivals and various cultural activities.
Tourists always go to the "tourist places", like the Royal Ontario Museum, Lake Ontario, the CN Tower, and Chinatown. But in order to feel the real Toronto, you only need to open your eyes a little more and you will see concerts (Aerosmith, Red Hot Chili Peppers), festivals (film festival, walk for aids), and cultural activities like the Latin Festival.
You can go to all these events because Toronto has a good, accessible public transportation system. You just have to buy your Metropass the first week of the month and you can use it on all buses, subways and streetcars throughout the month, as many times as you want.
The subways runs almost 24 hours and spans across all of Toronto, from west to east and north to south. The subway starts early in the morning and finishes at 2:00 am everyday. If you miss the last subway, you have several other choices. You can use your Metropass on the "Blue Night" system (theses buses take the same routes as the subway during night); or take the streetcar, as they run 24 hours.
But on of the most interesting things about Torontonians is they are open-minded and have liberal attitude. In Toronto, you can find Chinatown, Little Italy, Portuguese Village and many Latin places like Momento's. You could say Toronto is a multicultural city. People here don't care if you are gay or lesbian; if you are from another country; or what is your position on religion or politics: live and let live.
Personally, I find Toronto beautiful and organized. Torontonians are friendly people, sometimes the they make me feel like I am in my home country, Venezuela..."
